ADEDU Handbook for trainers: making the most of the ADEDU training course
2026-06-05The project partners recently published ADEDU Guidelines for inclusive digital education platforms, a practical resource designed to support more inclusive digital education for adult learners with disabilities. The Guidelines provide educators and trainers with accessible tools, practical recommendations, and useful information to help create learning environments that meet the diverse needs of adult learners.
A key focus of the Guidelines is understanding learning diversity in digital classrooms. Learners engage with information in different ways and may require varying levels of support. Some benefit from clearer instructions, while others need a more structured learning environment. Some are comfortable using digital platforms from the beginning, while others require additional time to develop confidence and familiarity. Likewise, while some learners can process large amounts of information easily, others may find it overwhelming. These differences are a natural part of education and training and should be considered when designing learning experiences.
Throughout the Guidelines, five core principles serve as the foundation for inclusive digital teaching: clarity, predictability, flexibility, accessibility, and reflective practice. These principles provide practical guidance for educators when making decisions about course design, communication, learning materials, and digital tools.
The Guidelines are available for download in the result section of the website (link).
